At Baked Earth, all of our terracotta tiles are independently tested for slip resistance to help you choose the most suitable product for your project. Testing is carried out by Sliptech using the recognised BS EN 16165:2021 Pendulum Test in accordance with UKSRG Guidelines Issue 6/2024.

Why are unsealed terracotta tiles more slip resistant?
Unsealed terracotta has a naturally textured clay surface that provides greater grip, particularly when wet. Once a surface is sealed with a protective coating, the finish becomes smoother, which can reduce wet slip resistance depending on the type of sealer used.
Are presealed terracotta tiles safe to use?
Yes. Our presealed terracotta tiles are suitable for most internal residential floors, including kitchens, hallways and living areas. They have been independently tested and achieved a Low Slip Potential in dry conditions and Moderate Slip Potential in wet conditions.
Which terracotta tiles have the highest slip resistance?
